The cutting edge design and amenities in the Park Avenue West Tower seamlessly integrate sustainable building attributes. Located adjacent to the beautiful and active Director’s Park, tenants are drawn to work and live in this downtown urban infill location. Join Portland AIA COTE and TMT Development for an exciting tour and learn how the project team worked with site and infrastructure constraints, including underground parking and the MAX Light Rail line, to implement optimal energy efficiency with a focus on occupant thermal and acoustical comfort.
- Identify design and construction challenges that the Park Avenue West project team faced when pursuing the LEED Core and Shell on the urban infill building.
- Examine how the design team worked together to integrate healthy and safe water and energy savings throughout completed communal spaces and in the incomplete shell spaces.
- List the LEED EA Optimize Energy strategies that the building pursued to maximize energy reduction through installed mechanical equipment while also meeting the stringent state energy code.
- Analyze how a high performance curtainwall system was implemented to reduce conductive heat transfer and minimize solar heat gain for optimal occupant thermal comfort.
Meeting Location: Park Avenue West Apartments, 750 Southwest 9th Avenue – meet outside the commercial entrance.
