Description

INTERN 3

Dominek Architecture, LLC seeks a full-time Intern 3 designer with 3-6 years of experience to join our growing team.

Dominek Architecture, LLC is a growing firm, working in multiple project types; multi-family, office building and tenant improvements, restaurants, single-family, and adaptive reuse.

Our firm is located in Portland’s thriving East Burnside neighborhood. We’re on the bus line and don’t pay for parking. We are in the middle of amazing restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques. We proudly work in a building of our own design. We believe in great coffee and Friday happy hours. We work hard and we laugh. We believe in the power of diversity. We’re small enough to be nimble and live a balanced life, and big enough to work with great clients and build our portfolio with meaningful work. We’re cyclists and hikers, scotch drinkers and gamers, weekend warriors and foodies.

We are looking for a team player with passion for curiosity to join our diverse team. You will be responsible for projects' technical design; providing planning, design, and coordination on small to medium projects. Other responsibilities include the following.

  • Specific technical design aspects of an assigned project including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions.
  • Perform assignments under direction with limited responsibility for design.
  • Independently make decisions on significant architectural design problems and methods.
  • Carry out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures.

You will report directly to an Associate, and partner with him to lead the team.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3-6 years professional architectural experience. You know enough to be dangerous.
  • Excellent design, communication and organizational skills. You know that this trifecta is the key to success. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite and SketchUp.
  • Ability to self-manage workload. You own your milestones and deadlines and do what it takes to meet them.

Preferences:

  • LEED AP
  • Vectorworks proficiency
  • Rendering experience

Education:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in architecture from an accredited college or university
  • Architectural registration not required
