MWA Architects is seeking a talented, self-motivated, and collaborative Project Architect with 7 - 15 years of experience to work in our Portland studio. This position is for our industrial and infrastructure work, and experience designing these types of facilities is preferred. MWA has a strong studio practice that designs multifamily housing to large and small scale industrial and public utilities. We are looking for a team member who shares our view that public infrastructure is an important civic resource with no shortage of opportunity for good design. Our studio in Old Town Portland is an open office environment requiring an outgoing personality and strong social skills. LEED Accreditation and BD+C specialization is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Materials and methods research
  • CAD and Revit – technical skills and ability to execute in the project documents
  • Architectural programming
  • Permitting – jurisdictional research through application and permit tracking
  • Document Production - from design development through construction document phase
  • Construction observation – site visits; weekly conference calls; submittal review; RFI review; ASIs and PRs
  • Leadership and team coordination
  • Assist with budget work planning and proposals– business oriented

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Architecture or BA in Architecture
  • 7 -15 years architectural experience
  • Design Skills – prefer experience designing and developing buildings related to industrial, laboratory and infrastructure
  • Strong AutoCAD/ Revit proficiency
  • Sustainability interest / LEED Accreditation
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Permanent US resident or US citizen
