The School of Design and Construction, Washington State University, is seeking applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor for academic year 2017 – 2018. This position is full-time 9-month one-year position at the Pullman Campus.

The School is seeking candidates that possess excellence in architectural design as demonstrated through their work as well as knowledge of current design issues. In particular, the School encourages applications from emerging professionals or recent graduates who can demonstrate a heightened level of enthusiasm for architecture and abilities to convey their enthusiasm to students. The successful candidate will be teaching 2- 3 courses per semester including studio(s) and a seminar | elective course.

.Requirements for the position are:

  • A professional degree in architecture and a master’s degree in architecture or a related discipline.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to interact with students and colleagues in a team environment.
  • Excellence in design and knowledge of contemporary design issues and theories.
  • Evidence of excellence in design and construction processes.
  • In depth knowledge of innovative aspects of structure, materials and technology.
  • Minimum of five years of practice in architecture and or allied disciplines.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Architectural registration in the United States.
  • Previous teaching experience and/ or architectural practice.
