My interests lie in ecological sustainability, urban planning for diverse communities, humanitarian relief and work with innovative materials and technology. Growing up on a farm in rural Tennessee in a yurt without electricity or plumbing gave me a unique perspective on the relation of humans and the environment. I believe that climate change is the number one challenge the world faces, a concern that influenced my decision to pursue architecture due to the enormous impact of the built environment. I’m fascinated by the technological advancements in building materials and energy systems, but I value a foundation of passive, affordable strategies that we can take from history and the natural environment. My skills lie in hand sketching; modeling with Rhino and Sketchup; 3D printing and digital fabrication; Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator; Autocad and Revit.

I’m drawn to Portland for its dedication to sustainability — most LEED buildings per capita, progressive urban development — high density, urban parks, pedestrian focus and historic preservation, and plethora of outdoor activities. I am planning a trip to visit in March in which I will be available to meet.
